Flashlight is an S6 with Osram W1. The mount is designed to aim at about 10 degrees down from the level of the top of the stem, whatever that is. With the Osram the hotspot ends about 20' out.

It shouldn't, the hotspot is well below eye level unless you're on a recumbent bike. If I ever run into another rider at night I'll let you know.

I should add that it's on maximum brightness for the photo (5A); I don't usually have it that bright to ride.
