MODERATORS
For weeks now it seems we are having never ending rain and wind. I have to dodge flooded streets now when I go to work. Yay climate change.
Shortly after typing this comment several states announced that they are switching to a disaster plan due to high risk of flooding. Fun times.
Damn I hope you will be able to remain save
wait ya'll actually plan for disasters?
As with every neoliberal paradise, plan for disaster translates into bags of sand to put in front of your door. The infrastructure for water management (dykes/floodgates/etc) is rapidly deteriorating. And why would you spend money on it? In a country that's mostly below sea level? In a world where the sea level is rising due to global warming? Of course not. Fossil fuel subsidies, that's where it's at.
And then we have actual freak things happening where you can't have a disaster plan for. A small town nearby where I live got hit by a small tornado two days ago. Because we have those now apparently.
The worst thing about it is that, while you are having floods in Belgium, below in Catalunya (Spain) we are in a super long drought. We have been with "save water" messages from the government for a couple of months now.
Yay climate change indeed...
