Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Almost no one in Taipei really fears but some in the US wish to provoke.
Meanwhile, Taiwan has been spending tens of billions on their military as they don't want to be conquered by their drum-beating neighbor.
And who profits from that? Oh yes, the same people who have been stoking the fear since 1949. Meanwhile no one thinks China will attack unless the US puppets announce independence. But that would mean rewriting the Taiwanese constitution which explicitly states that China and Taiwan are the same country.
And you can downvote all you like but you can't change the facts.
just like China honored their treaty with Hong Kong right ?
Changing the facts is happening all day every day in China with their censorship, just try to find info about the Tiananmen Square massacre within China
And you have been hoodwinked into believing everything corporate news media tells you without ever asking "how do they know this, where does this information come from?"
It was the US that imposed sanctions, China hasn't changed its stance. Why did the US impose sanctions? Because a law, was passed that forbade foreign groups from funding political parties, banned treason, sedition and terrorism. That is, all that is in Hong Kong's security law. It is much less draconian than that of the US but it did mean that weasels like Brian Kern had to fuck off out of here.
Yeah sure people getting detained and put god knows where, beaten down brutally on the protests seems a good way to pass a security law that pretty much makes everything illegal.
Im not saying the US is all good guys only with the best interest but blaming everything on them when clearly China is the bad actor is just dillusional.
But you wont change your mind any way since you are either a troll, payed by someone, or really believe what you are saying without questioning why.
What would US or British or European police do if protesters were throwing bricks and petrol bombs at them, or setting fire to subway stations. Throughout nine months of violent protests the only people that died were killed by protesters.
I am not a troll nor am I paid by anyone. I live in Hong Kong, I saw what was happening with my own eyes and I also saw the bullshit that was peddled by the international media and repeated on social media by people who have never been to Hong Kong, Taiwan or China.

China would happily attack Taiwan and would have already if it weren't for the backdraft they would receive from trade partners and for the horrendous outcome of the Ukraine war. They are desperate to conquer Taiwan and getting hold of their semiconductor manufacturing facilities is a wet dream for the Chinese.
China could have attacked Taiwan at any time since 1949 but they didn't. Why do you think that might be?
lol well if you knew your history you would know they tried and failed. The PLA lost at the battle of Guningtou which effectively halted their advance towards Taiwan. Then the Korean War started and completely changed their priorities for years to come. Ever since then it's been a back and forth arms race of Taiwan's ROC maintaining a sufficient military readiness up to around 1980 as to deter China from taking action. Then the US got heavily involved and Taiwan became a center for semi conductor manufacture. It became a critical partner for countries around the world because of this and this bolstered the ROC's access to advanced western military equipment and help from nations dependent on Taiwanese industry also China itself became a major trade partner with Taiwan(bizarre right?). But the new CCP and PLA leadership of today are not like their counterparts of the past. Pooh Bear is a true despot who really wants the one China dream and cares little for the people. He has expressed real interest in aggression regardless of cost and needs a distraction to economic woes. Much like his Slavic counterpart's dream of reuniting the USSR pooh also has the One China bug hence actions taken in Hong Kong. He would have been all to happy to conduct and all out invasion and there was real evidence he planned to do so; However, the Ukrainian response I believe took them by surprise and Taiwan is much better prepared to repel an attack than Ukraine was.
Also Guningtou was 74 years ago, that gives the PLA more than enough time to gather reinforcements. In the meantime Mainland companies are doing business in Taiwan and Taiwan companies are doing business on the mainland. But you won't hear about that from your trustworthy western news sources.
I feel like you didnt read my response since it explains why in those 74 years they havent had a chance to do so and why things are different now. I also talk about how taiwans largest trade partner today is main land China. Reliable sources all acknowledge that ot isnt a secret.
Real evidence eh? Show me.
