Before the last few weeks, were they just hiding all the incidents that were happening or there are just a lot more now?

It just wasn’t considered newsworthy. There’s been stuff like this for the entire existence of jetliners — although probably not as bad as since Boeing management sold out.

Not sure if there's just more reporting now or if the rate of incidents increased.
