I'm not 100% sure but I remember when I tried kbin an upvote was like a "boost" on Mastodon, and every one showed up on your profile feed
This behavior can be disabled, right? ... Right?
Idk, I think it was the deal breaker for me on kbin because I do not like it at all. They may have fixed it by now
