An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)
- No omni/carnist apologists. This is not a place where to ask to be hand-holded into veganims. Omnis coddling/backpatting is not tolerated, nor are /r/DebateAVegan-like threads
- Use content warnings and NSFW tags for triggering content
- Circlejerking belongs to /c/vegancirclejerk
- All posts should abide by Lemmy's Code of Conduct

How about no.
Veganism isn't like Celiac or life threatening allergies. It's literally a personal choice. A private business is under no obligation to cater to that.
Where government involvement begins and ends in terms of private business is (imo) in mandating no discrimination against things that individuals have no choice about (Gender, sexuality, race, age, etc)
But choices are a different beast. The government has no business being involved in that.
If a Vegan restaurant would do well in that area, someone would open it. If a restaurant does well with their vegan options, they keep them, if they don't do well, they remove them. It's called supply and demand.
