(lemmy.world)
A place to discuss and support all things Steam Deck.
Replacement for r/steamdeck_linux.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:
[Flair] My post title
The following is a list of suggested flairs:
[Discussion] - General discussion.
[Help] - A request for help or support.
[News] - News about the deck.
[PSA] - Sharing important information.
[Game] - News / info about a game on the deck.
[Update] - An update to a previous post.
[Meta] - Discussion about this community.
Some more Steam Deck specific flairs:
[Boot Screen] - Custom boot screens/videos.
[Selling] - If you are selling your deck.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
Rules:
No touch pads? No deal. They're just that good.
What do you use them for? I never touch mine
You want nexus mods? You're gonna want the touch pads. Or even some games that aren't perfectly supported on handhelds or by controllers benefit from touch pads. They allow you to access to menus that controllers dont recognize
The on screen keyboard. Strategy games (civ and stellaris in my case). Desktop mode. Sometimes even 1st/3rd person view games when I'm not in the mood for gyro controls. Browsing (did you know you can usually "spin" your left touch pad iPod-style to scroll?). Stuff like that.
