I really wanted to use Epic. I'm not a Steam fanboy and am actually kinda disgusted by people who hate Epic just for not being Steam.
But Epic is always lacking something. First it was cloud saves, the games are not playable without that for me (I switch a few devices regularly).
Now it's no Linux support. My primary gaming devices are Linux (laptop and Steam Deck) and while Heroic works well, I see no reason to buy from Epic over Steam when Steam is just better on Linux.
My number one choice is GOG, anyway. For a while Epic and Steam were contending for my 2nd choice (which is very much needed when GOG is your primary), but they lost me when Steam Deck came out.
