Qazimodo prototype (lemmy.world)

I started designing the Qazimodo in February and just got the first aluminum case from the manufacturer a couple days ago. Very happy with how it turned out.

I get that a small keyboard is nice, and that a numpad is not necessary for everyone, but no numbers at all seems quite drastic, and also no Ctrl or alt just looks very unpractical to work on.

The keys don’t have to be explicitly visible to exist

Wow way to flex that you can type without looking at the keyboard. What next? Show off how you can type with more than your index fingers? Show off.

How do you do the numbers then? And also copy/paste (CRTL+C CRTL-V)

  • don’t know OP’s keymapping, but on the default QAZ layout:
    • D and K are mod-tap Ctrl (ie. tap for D or K, hold for Ctrl)
    • right space is layer-tap 1 (ie. tap for space, hold for Layer 1)
      • Layer 1 is the numbers and symbols layer (ex. hold right-space, tap Esc for 1, hold right-space, tap G for %)
  • EDIT: and that just covers the hold-taps, if OP adds in full tap-dance or combos or one-shot-mods or custom QMK code, then things can get really funky

It takes some getting used to but I’ve been using a 35% for work for almost a year now and I don’t think I can go back.
