The amount of moisture I essentially mopped off my bedroom window this morning was revolting.

I feel this in soul. So much condensation here too, I'll have to keep an eye out for any mold πŸ˜‘

Yup I'm pretty conscious of this. In a previous house I lived in mould throughout wardrobes was an issue at times.

A place I was in in Sydney the landlord painted the whole building with a plastic coat sort of thing. Suddenly mould everywhere! The people downstairs lost everything they owned it was that bad.

I've lost a few pairs of shoes to it and will have to be careful not to lose clothes

Our glass table in the backyard looks more water than glass

Just mould sprayed the bathroom. It’s a drippy mess. Like the so called exhaust fan literally drips water. What is the Building Code?

[-] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 2 points 5 months ago

Mine has done that before too. And I have an unfixable ceiling leak due to a structural issue that means my bedroom is filling with black mould

[-] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 5 months ago

Er, almost nothing is unfixable. They just consider it unaffordable.

They just spackle over it and next time it rains water comes right through again. One time they did go up to the roof and said it was some issue with water getting under the flashing due to the join of units.

Could that be the reason for some of your health problems because that's not good?

I have a disability, but I can't imagine inhaling black mould for years would have helped.

[-] Catfish@aussie.zone 2 points 5 months ago

Yup. Same place they moulded with paint idiocy had a plumbing block. Landlord turned up himself with a rug gaff taped to a 2x4 as a plunger and expected this object to be kept on the porch for future use.

I'd recommend a portable dehumidifier. You'd be surprised how much water they extract from the air.
