Interested in the lifetime membership but its so damn expensive!! Would wait to see how Boost is before deciding on which app I would be staying in.

[-] CharlestonChewbacca@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I'll likely use Boost. It was the best reddit app.

Fingers crossed Relay joins the party.

The dev is sticking with Reddit to provide a sub model on Reddit unfortunately.

Last I heard they struck a deal with Reddit and are moving to a usage based subscription model, but I haven't seen the pricing posted anywhere. Anyways, doesn't seem like they're coming to Lemmy. That's the client I used too, but honestly I find all the clients comparable and I'm totally happy with sync. Unfortunately the foss options don't have the same stability and polish, but I'm happy to support a small developer with a one time fee.

[-] ljdawson@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

That's for lifetime ultra. You can do a one time purchase to remove ads.

Yeah, gotta kind of see if Lemmy catches on before investing that kind of money. I'd be much more likely to toss them $20 or something more reasonable

It does feel nice feeling home again after years of using Sync though. That official Reddit app is so clumsy.

[-] godless@feddit.de 4 points 1 year ago

$20 is what it takes to remove ads. Ultra is another subscription with different benefits altogether.

[-] OtakuAltair@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

You can remove the ads for 20$ now

Profile -> remove ads

Liftoff and thunder are much nicer clients i feel but its subjective

[-] choroalp@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

I use liftoff but for some reason it does not allow cross instance commenting. I am on connect rn

[-] LambChop@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

I was keen to try Sync but, after I saw my first ads on Lemmy with it and then saw the cost to remove them, I uninstalled.

I'm actually really happy with Connect, which has everything I want and for free.

@Paisehla @d3Xt3r boost is dead now isn't it?

[-] scarrtt@lemmy.world -5 points 1 year ago

Mobilsm will have a cracked version soon. $115 is pure greed so he's not getting a cent off me anymore
