Thanks Obama and capitalism. Without the Obama's behind the scenes phone call bullshit intervention in the last primary which ended up giving us Biden we would have had Bernie as the president and none of this would have happened.
What? Bernie participated in the primary and got half the number of votes that Biden did. Biden won greater than 50% of the votes (not just the delegates).
Why would Bernie have advanced as the candidate?
. . . ‘Cause.
You forgot how Obama called everyone except Elizabeth to the right of Bernie and got them to drop out after it was clear Bernie was winning state after state. On the other hand Elizabeth Warren continued to split the vote with Bernie. The conservative dem vote consolidated around Biden only after the primary was well underway, and it was clear Bernie was winning. Then out of the blue Obama convinced Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg to drop out. The billionaire-owned TV media did not even report properly in real time on Bernie's wins either, as they were shitting bricks.
Bernie had 4 years to shore up his weakness with black voters, the same issue he ran into against Hilary and didn't.
Bernie could've offered Pete VP to stay in the race and continue splitting the centrist vote, but he didn't.
In the timeline where Bernie won, and also beat Trump, we'd be dealing with progressives feeling betrayed that he inevitably did what ever other US president would do and sent weapons to Israel after Oct 7th.
