Does this even matter? He bought that cesspool for like 45B USD and recently got his 56B USD tesla payout. So that blight is still swimming in wealth ¯_(ツ)_/¯

He was faking the numbers just long enough until he could pass the bill onto some other schmucks.

Could have been more wealthy and not have people keep reporting on his failures with X, formerly known as Twitter, constantly.

Good thing he's in charge. Who knows what else a more competent boss could have done with it.

No worries, his other companies are going great, right? Tesla is amazing, right?

I deleted the app but still check in on my web browser. It's getting so bad I think I'll need to block the whole domain on my phone

"formerly known as Twitter" JHC when the f are these tech publications going to stop telling us Twitter has a new name?

[-] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago

Because when is twitter going to call itself twitter again? X is a horrible name, and nobody wants to use it. In text form it looks like a typo, or a mathemetical variable.

What is enshittification?

The phenomenon of online platforms gradually degrading the quality of their services, often by promoting advertisements and sponsored content, in order to increase profits. (Cory Doctorow, 2022, extracted from Wikitionary) source

The lifecycle of Big Internet

We discuss how predatory big tech platforms live and die by luring people in and then decaying for profit.

Embrace, extend and extinguish

We also discuss how naturally open technologies like the Fediverse can be susceptible to corporate takeovers, rugpulls and subsequent enshittification.
