I'm grateful that old flog at the market will be dead soon enough and can stop ruining the environment for his grandkids.
I'm grateful that I'll be able to get one of those awesome sausage rolls for lunch from the bakery with the nice sausage rolls today. I'm also grateful to my parents dog Vegas who is a sweetheart and has been comfortable and happy with the 2 air conditioner repair dudes in the house at the moment (after an initial cautious sniff introduction when they got here)
The countown is on for my de-toothing. About an hour to go. Hopefully it will be fairly straightforward, but those back molars can be a bit stubborn - and last time I had a tooth in poor condition removed it splintered in to lots of pieces and was an absolute mess to get out.
I have given myself permission to sook about it for at least tonight and tomorrow. I may also decide to aquire icecream, although with the current temperatures may just decide to increase my custard intake.
I don my Oodie like an Elvin cloak and I am ready for the world.
Helping!
Edit: couldn't help myself.. saw it at 299 comments so nabbed that #300
Ok gang, let's send this thread over the edge. What sport did you play during high school? What sport did you like, what sport did you hate?
For me I played soccer, table tennis. I hated gymnastics.
At high school? I was a fat kid, so was condemned to the outer darkness as far as sport was concerned. Was forced to participate in basketball, hockey and swimming. Successfully avoided tennis, squash and softball/baseball, cricket and anything even remotely resembling gymnastics. As I have no depth perception above the horizon, anything that required me to catch or hit a ball overhead was doomed to failure. Also very small and badly engineered feet, so running sports were off the table too. Hockey was OK - I was the goalie (most of the time) as no one else wanted to do that bit. Had quite a lot of fun whacking people's shins with my stick (named Excalibur). Revenge is sweet. Did OK out of school at ice skating. As my Dad was ex-navy, all of my siblings and me learned to sail small boats and race them in the school holidays. Which was OK, but not really my bag long term. Also got thrown out of ballet classes due to complete lack of talent. But I do love to dance - just not ballet.
The real irony came in my mid thirties, when due to unrelated circumstances, I did a reflex speed test. And tested out at the top 3% of the population. If only they'd offered jet fighter pilot training as a sport at my high school ... I could have been a real star at that.
As things turned out, I ended up as a professional equestrian for over 20 years. The reflexes came in real handy for that. And on the back of a horse I didn't need to use my feet much so that was good too.
It's early. I'm waiting for fence builders. What I can tell you is, when getting the quotes, the dude who turned up with thongs on did not get the job.
Dammit! Shoe leaked, now Iโm going to squelch all day.
Aldi shop is done. Will hit up one of the Oligopolies for the couple of things on the list they didn't have. Time to cook dinner, go to gym, and make the most of the rest of today.
What happened to the rain? Seems like it mostly fell while we were all asleep.
I had some Spirited Away-esque dreams where there were all these fantastical characters and a huge restaurant with many inner workings and lowly staff being turned into turtles and retro computers for being slow or seeing the wrong thing. It was kind of heart-breaking, really...
