Nice, somebody please make a fork where you can bind quick save and load to fucking buttons.

Some reasonable AI and less of the bullshit monsters would be nice too.

I thought they fully sold the license to Ubisoft? Ubisoft would violently execute an employee on the spot if they suggested open sourcing something that will net them anything more than $0.23 per year.

No idea, but open sourcing old game engines certainly hasn't harmed iD Software's income. It sure has gained them near-universal praise though.
