For those unaware, about umu-launcher

This is a unified launcher for Windows games on Linux. It is essentially a copy of the Steam Runtime Tools and Steam Linux Runtime that Valve uses for Proton, with some modifications made so that it can be used outside of Steam.

Brilliant stuff. We need independence from Valve as much as Valve needs independence from Windows. This will only benefit all of us in the long run

I didn't think the project was about independence from Valve, moreso about avoiding duplication of effort among Bottles/Heroic/Lutris and Linux gaming support in general.

Nah they just wanted an excuse to not use UWU, since this was originally Universal Wine Launcher iirc
