“His behavior could have been stopped long before things like this broke our hearts to read, his abuse didn’t have to reach me & many others including women, men, & minors.. whom of which will forever traumatize an entire industry,” she wrote. “He is a soulless human inside of a systemic problem within the entertainment industry that has been ran by soulless people before he even hit the scene.”

“I’ve got a lot I can’t tell,” Kutcher revealed about attending Combs’ White Parties on a 2019 episode of Hot Ones. “Can’t tell that one either. … I’m actually cycling through them. Diddy party stories, man, that was some weird memory lane thing.”

  • Ashton Kutcher

Dude gave a speech to congress about "modern slavery" of sex trafficking, but can't talk about systemic abusers he actually knew. He resigned from THORN after writing letters of support for Danny Mastersons, but it's just so infuriating to see how performative his actions have always been.

Bitch defended Danny Masterson too

[-] Chill_Dan@lemmy.world 60 points 2 months ago

The scientologist rapist Danny Masterson?

[-] Cyberflunk@lemmy.world 22 points 2 months ago

Very same.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis: Masterson's former "That '70s Show" co-stars wrote letters asking the judge for leniency

Debra Jo Rupp: Another "That '70s Show" cast member who played Kitty Forman, wrote a letter sharing positive anecdotes about Masterson

Billy Baldwin: Masterson's brother-in-law wrote a letter in support

Giovanni Ribisi: An actor who was raised in Scientology, also wrote a letter supporting Masterson

It's too bad about Ribisi, he was a good actor. Thankfully he seems to have disappeared.

He did cinematography for the movie "Strange Darling" that came out recently and it was really well done. He was also on the Amazon series "Sneaky Pete," which I thought the first season of was pretty good. Been a fan of his since the 90's, it's too bad about his Scientology background/connection

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah sneaky Pete is the last thing I've seen him in.

[-] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Well, fuck That 70's Show I guess. Hopefully Red and Topher are being chill. Donna too I reckon

[-] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Wilmer Valderrama too, I hope!

[-] Cadeillac@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Yes. I didn't mean to exclude everyone else, I just threw some out there

[-] slartibartfast@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

He still went to jail though I think?

[-] fartnuggetsupreme@startrek.website 2 points 2 months ago

He murdered Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala's dog, too

I don't think it is performative. I don't give a shit about Kutcher. But his work was still valuable for helping end a lot of sex trade shit around the world. Don't discount that.

Think of it like this -

How many people tried to call out Cosby? Or Epstein? Or even Diddy? This was DECADES of call outs. It took a massive media push to finally get something to happen.

People are literally calling Drake and Trump a pedo TODAY and these dudes are walking around.

“Many powerful people … many dirty secrets,” Buzbee said of the allegations, announced at a press conference. He said his team has “collected pictures, video, texts,” and that the list of names collected “will shock you.”

I wonder if we'll ever get a copy of the names.

Also disappointed to see Ashton Kutcher going quiet on this, thought he was very vocally anti-this shit.

[-] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago

It was all projection he probably was involved with it.

[-] Chill_Dan@lemmy.world 23 points 2 months ago

"Well, there's alot I can't tell…" "Our Relationship was really bizarre…" "We Became Fast Friends…"

Sounds like they had something going.

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 18 points 2 months ago

You mean the guy that dated an underage girl from the TV show they were on? Nahhhh totally kosher...

[-] Grainne@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago
[-] MeaanBeaan@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I think they're implying Mila Kunis. Who was underrage when she started working on That 70's Show. But afaik their irl relationship didn't start until 2012 when both of them were very much adults. They're married now.

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

They dated during the show, too.

[-] MeaanBeaan@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Not saying your wrong but all the info I could find seems to indicate completely the opposite being the case. Do you have a source? Did one of them talk about it in a book or something?

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I don't carry around any proof of what actors do in my back pocket, no. It's not that important. It's just something I heard 20 years ago.

[-] zcd@lemmy.ca 16 points 2 months ago

Why am I not surprised to see Kutcher in this shit

[-] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Dude needs to go away forever. Hopefully in a cell next to his buddy Danny. The cast used to hate on Topher cause he didn't like hanging out with them but now I wonder if that's why. Go Topher

[-] Aussieiuszko@aussie.zone 11 points 2 months ago

That's fucked bro.
