That would really suck if he would escalate the war.
Putin: gets state TV to air Melania nudes in hopes of showing Trump how easy it is to air anything on Trump
Trump: does this
Guess we'll find out if pee tapes exist
I mean, it's not like nudes of Melania are hard to find, you can just google them, she posed nude for a magazine that was published it's not like they robbed her safety deposit box or whatever.
True, but it's a little less about the actual content and more about the unusual nature of airing it and the potential implication.
Could be simple backhanded flattery to the point of thinly-veiled mockery (we're laughing at you but pretending to laugh with you, immodest Trump family), but then again, if Russia did have dirt, Putin would likely not be blunt about it and instead use a veiled threat. The implication being that they have no qualms airing things that might be deemed too graphic for broadcast, specifically nude images of Trump's wife. "Look what we can do, take the hint and fall in line".
It's so pointed that Trump should be able to read between the lines, but he's damn near blind from narcissism to the point that it's doubtful. A backhanded compliment is a compliment to that guy
Idk, he's already had one presidency (yes, but what about second presidency? Lol sorry) so I mean any компромат they may have would already be known by trump most likely, and of course they'll use it, that's the whole point of компромат. To me it seems more like they just wanted to say "america bad" to their populace, which also does have some implications about US/RU relations, (namely, that they're about to tell us to stuff our own assholes on the ukraine "peace" shit trump has been "calling" about).
There is literally no need for compromat on Trump at this point. Between Stormy Daniels and Epstein and being convicted of felonies, the compramat can't actually do anything. It's unlikely that there IS any compramat. It's much more likely that, as a NYC real estate mogul, Trump has extensive business dealings with the Russian mob and the top Russian billionaires.
The US president-elect advised the Russian president not to escalate the war in Ukraine and reminded him of “Washington’s sizeable military presence in Europe”, the Post reported.
It added that Trump expressed interest in follow-up conversations on “the resolution of Ukraine’s war soon”.
This is so weird, almost worded like he just discovered/barely grasps the war in Ukraine.
"We have a big military in Europe. Huge."
Putin nods. "Ah. I didn't know that."
His grudge against Zelensky though... there's no way he forgot that.
Who is reporting what Trump said?
I would guess Trump probably said that, followed by asking for a price for Intel on the militarized resources.
Reminds me of the leaks of when Biden wanted to sound tough on Netanyahu. Trump just wants to sound tough on Putin for a bit.
Is there an equivalent to r/lostredditors? Because you are talking about something completely different. Guess some regular Reddit bots are moving to Lemmy.
Maybe I misinterpreted your comment, but I thought you were saying that Trump basically purposefully leaked the comments to sound tough on Putin, but wasn't actually planning on following through at all, and instead was planning on actually helping Putin instead but purposefully didn't leak that part. I compared it to a similar recent situation in the news.
Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn't have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.
