Can everyone stop posting about Bluesky getting more people? We all know, someone posts that 10x a day

[-] Wistful@discuss.tchncs.de 27 points 2 days ago

It's one guy posting all of those xD

[-] slaacaa@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Wow you’re right. I also noticed a flood of these post, and it’s really them posting dozens of times a day about this topic. Time to block OP

Can you chill please? Any positive press that are getting people off Twitter is good for society and all of us Lemmings by vicarity. Imma start replying to everyone commenting similarly cuz that is more bothersome to me than seeing Bluesky stuff everywhere. Its having its moment, take a break my dude. Use your apps filters or get Voyager and punch in Bluesky or Blue Sky

Spam is in the eye of the beholder

[-] Scolding7300@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

That's some serious spam if it managed to get there too

They should do this :)

Wish it was mastodon; this feels like kicking the can down the road rather than actually solving any problems. Whatever, it's still better than twitter

[-] Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I tried my best to like Mastodon, but after a day on bluesky I like it more. Mastodon is fine, but the shitposting is really lacking.

Amazing how none of these news outlets gave a flying shit about Blue Sky until this week. 😂

[-] psychothumbs@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Yeah too bad they didn't get into it earlier, but it has hit a critical mass of users and attention lately.

It's an alternative to Twitter in the same way Pepsi is an alternative to Coke, it's still essentially the same thing. This is just trading one really shitty corporation for a different not as shitty yet corporation. As it grows it will eventually become the exact same thing and everyone will be back here celebrating the rise of some other corporate social-media network.

[-] Zak@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

It's kind of not. It does appear to be at least theoretically possible to self-host any or all of the major components. Unlike ActivityPub projects, however, it doesn't seem like anybody is doing that and offering services to the public.

[-] SuperSleuth@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

All it takes is a couple investors and that all goes bye-bye.

Currently it's like the difference between Pepsi - and a soda company which is currently owned by a madman, and is aggressively, publicly trying to poison its customers, and spread Nazi shit and fascism and whatnot.

A little wider gap than you're saying.

Sure, Pepsi could become that other thing. But it's not currently.

BlueSky just hit 19m!

[-] Grippler@feddit.dk 3 points 1 day ago

Psycho can't keep his/her thumbs away from the post button. So let's have a poll: https://strawpoll.com/7rnzV89aDnO

[-] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 2 points 2 days ago

God damn wtf is with this blue sky spam folks.

How much are getting paid for this OP?

[-] Jackthelad@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

I've been tempted to give Bluesky another go after it left beta, but apparently you still can't set up feeds so they all show up in one instead of having to swipe through all of them.

It felt too much like work keeping up with things, so I gave up.
