Looks like a Airbus 330, I miss working on the bus

Man I don’t miss working on the bus at all. Most people can work on a laptop just fine but not me. There’s a number of things I’ve learned I just can’t do while riding the bus and massage therapy’s one of them.

It's actually dawn, not dusk. Heading/track around 080, east, can only be sunrise. At 0730Z and with some Equal Time Points on ND, I'd say this is over the Atlantic Ocean, meaning this flight is from the Americas, probably Central or Caribbean to Europe. It's got 04h48m of flight time, so it departed around 0220Z, that's late at night in most of Central America's timezones.

With what seems to be 29 tons of fuel aboard, that's probably an A330.

Based on the 0220Z departure time, it's possible to crosscheck FR24 departure tables from main Caribbean airports, check which flights are flown with A330 leaving around 0200Z and find out the airline.

The colors are awesome. This might inspire my next office lighting color scheme.

How the fuck do pilots know which buttons to press lol

Thousands upon thousands of hours of flight experience.

[-] ours@lemmy.film 2 points 1 year ago

Huge binders of knowledge and there's a logic where these buttons and knobs are grouped together.

Just keep pressing randomly until you're in the air, alternately until any annoying alarms have stopped!

Did they intentionally match the color of those instruments to the color of dusk?

I’d say it’s likely, your eyes don’t need to adjust as much to red hues so you can see things better in the dark.

[-] intensely_human@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

Same reason that L-shaped army flashlight has a red lens you can affix to it. You can read documents or look at a map with red light then still have your eyes’ night vision when you turn the light off.

Sightings of space phenomena like showering stars disallow non-red lights for that reason too. The night sky is slow to open.

So cool that it matches the colors of sunrise/sundown.

[-] JustZ@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Very satisfying.

You know this makes me wonder why there aren’t copilots in Mechwarrior
