Pirates didn't steal from peasants. They conquered ships and let the crew decide what to do with the captain.

You still can wear those shirts. While you might get weird looks, you will also get admiration for your drip. You just have to get one somehow, but i doubt that there are no such shirts available anywhere. If nothing else, from a pirate or vampire costume.
