If you install from USB maybe Rufus (USB writer) can still skip it. But honestly let's all switch to Linux ASAP.

When I fixed my mom's new computer, I created a new MS account and then deleted it after I created a local account.

It takes an hour or so to clean up the mess that Lenovo and Microsoft left.

It's not the perfect method, it feels more and more like you have to jailbreak your own PC to use it.

I don't see why there are so many work arounds ms is shutting down, when all you need to say is ' this will be a domain joined pc' and it lets you set up a local account.

This only works on Pro. Home cannot join domains.

And that is why you never buy home edition. Even my in-laws who are home users don't use home version.

Whats the big difference between the two?

Home edition removes all the good ways to manage a PC. Like classic control panels and group policies. Also Bitlocker.

You can't even RDP into a Home machine either, without 3rd party tools.
