For those of you missing rarbg, infinity has encoded it and released it on torrentgalaxy.

Guardians.Of.The.Galaxy.Vol.3.2023.1080p.WEBRip.x265-INFINITY

Wow, busy download... Downloading at 150KB/s, uploading at 15MB/s

[-] rodneyck@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Thank you, found it, grabbing it!!

[-] d4nm3d@demmy.co.uk 9 points 1 year ago

Enjoy, infinity seems to be the closest we have to rarbg quality / size for x265 at the moment.. although they took a small break which worried a few people :)

[-] d4nm3d@demmy.co.uk 1 points 1 year ago

Not a fan personally..

[-] Blxter@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Did not know they took a break I thought they got busted or something idk lol

[-] d4nm3d@demmy.co.uk 1 points 1 year ago

No word on what actually happened but it had just been July 4th.. maybe they were just drunk for a few days :) .

Setup the big screen for viewing tonight and it was a bust. This version would not play on either my projector or the Firestick using VLC player, normally they play all my x265 HEVC, and more. It was a bust. I will have to find another rip. I am not sold on INFINITY, unfortunately.

[-] d4nm3d@demmy.co.uk 2 points 1 year ago

Strange, and apologies my suggestion didn't work for you.. I play everything through Kodi and i've not had any issues with their releases... I'd be interested to know if you've had problems with RARBG-X265 releases?

[-] rodneyck@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Not your fault and sorry if it came across as accusatory. Oddly it did play on my computer using VLC. I just wonder if they encoded a bit differently than RARBG?

No. I had no issues with RARBG x265 releases. This is a first.

[-] d4nm3d@demmy.co.uk 2 points 1 year ago

i think there are differences, but i don't know what.. infinity did post their encoding settings int he early releases but then said that they would be the same moving forward and stopped.. so i guess it's just a matter of comparing a rarbg release and an infinity

[-] thorbot@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Torrent leech has it! Thx for the tip

[-] Letranger@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Yes but some of the 4K ones are in split rar format so you need to extract after downloading. Bit inconvenient but annoying for sure.

[-] thorbot@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I despise individually RARed files. It’s so needless

[-] crimsdings@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago

Scene release, scene rules.

[-] thorbot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The scene rules state not to RAR up files but dumbshits do it anyway.

[-] crossover@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Looking forward to this. Didn’t see it at the cinemas. So going to enjoy it tonight with some popcorn, a 4K tv and 5.1 sound setup. The next best thing!

[-] rodneyck@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I have an LG HD projector and a screen I pull down from the ceiling with 5.1 surround, and my popcorn isn't stored in garbage bags and reused the next day. 😉 Insta-theater!

[-] drifty@lemmy.drifty.win 10 points 1 year ago

Can't wait for better quality, also which tracker has it dropped on?

[-] daf@lemmy.fmhy.ml 13 points 1 year ago

26gb,4k DV is enough unless you are looking for remux

[-] Faceman2K23@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 year ago

I've got that, quality is pretty good

Fast motion is a bit rough, but all web streams are like that until we get double the bitrate or better codecs.

[-] rodneyck@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Most of the big players now, The bay, TorrentDownloads, LimeTorrents, etc.

[-] aStonedSanta@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

I miss my rarbg. Anything that fills the void on quality?

[-] rodneyck@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Sadly, so do I. I have been getting most of my stuff off The Bay and occassionally LimeTorrents, but nothing beat the RARBG releases.

[-] Greenbubbleb0y@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

Galaxy torrent is ok

[-] Efwis@lemmy.zip -3 points 1 year ago
[-] MrStetson@suppo.fi 10 points 1 year ago

These are super compressed, 4k looks worse than 1080p good quality videos

[-] Efwis@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 year ago

I don’t know bout 4k as I am happy with 1080p on my screen. It was thought though

[-] drifty@lemmy.drifty.win 2 points 1 year ago
[-] TheCraiggers@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 year ago

I presume it's cool to post magnet links in here?

[-] drifty@lemmy.drifty.win 6 points 1 year ago

Yeah iirc dbzer0 is super chill about this

[-] hyper@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

In plain text or do we need to base64 them?

[-] drifty@lemmy.drifty.win 2 points 1 year ago

Plain text i believe

[-] myxi@feddit.nl 2 points 1 year ago

put it in plain text, if you get a warning, protest or change instance.

[-] Seroko111@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Warning, there's one on 1337x. to (26.6gb) that has a weird pink filter on top, you can see it on the screenshots on the torrent page. Just pick another one or try on TorrentGalaxy. to

[-] yoichi@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 1 year ago

I believe you're referring to 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 2023 2160p WEB-DL DDP5 1 Atmos HDR DV HEVC-CMRG'

The HDR DV part of the title denotes that the file is "High Dynamic Range + Dolby Vision". The reason you're seeing the pink, or sometimes green, filter is because of the Dolby Vision HDR layer on this file.

This file is sourced from Disney+ and if you had a DV supported display, they would serve this version of the file for you. Otherwise, they would serve a SDR, or Standard Dynamic Range, version of the same movie for displays that don't support DV or has it disabled. I recommend that if you're grabbing 2160p files, you take care to see whether you're grabbing a HDR version.

In your case, I would almost always go with non-HDR and non-DV, sometimes it could be both, sometimes it could be either one. Ideally, grab a release that doesn't included both of those terms and you should have the SDR version. 1080p can also have HDR, but very rarely DV so you only really need to care about this when it's 4k

[-] Seroko111@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 year ago

Omg thanks I didn't know that, I'll keep away from HDR DV versions, thanks!!!

[-] DepriSheep@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 year ago

Thats the dolby vision layer. You would need a compatible device to play it.

[-] Pulp@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago

Or a compatible player. Use mpv.

[-] Pulp@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 year ago

Use MPV to play it. It should make it proper hdr or sdr depending on your screen

[-] ff2009@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 year ago

You probably downloaded a Dolby Vision version. If you don't have a compatible Display and Device, Dolby Vision content tends to have a pink/green filter apearence. You need to find a SDR or HDR10 version.
