I wonder if you have to make a post not just a comment, to be invited as a moderator?
A comment is enough; you can assign me as a moderator by clicking on my comment's three-dot menu button on the default web-UI (not sure if any of the mobile apps have this tool available though).
But I realized now that it could be that you can't assign me as a mod since I am an admin on sopuli server! Need to look into that. We'll see when sunshine comments here. Whether you can assign her as a mod.
I can help moderate the community nevertheless! I have all the mod actions and reports available since I'm an admin on the server this community is hosted on :)
Edit: yeah checked it out, you can't appoint me as a moderator since I am an administrator on the server this community is hosted on. But I'd be happy to help anyway!
OK! Ahh I was thinking of inviting @sunshine@lemmy.ca and @pineapple@sopuli.xyz (to continue with the same mods as OM) and of course you're welcome as well. Curse my confusion with black-and-white avatars!
Oh right, pineapple is also a mod on OM. Good idea, hope we'll hear from them soon!
