Hi Everybody I was thinking of installing /e/os on my Fairphone 5 but my work requires me to use Microsoft Authenticator on our personal phones in order to log into our work laptop (I know this really annoys me too). So just want to know if Authenticator works on e-os?

If you need to type in a 6-digit-code, any TOTP app should work. Personally, I'm using Aegis Authenticator.

That's not an option for enterprise systems. OP specifically needs Microsoft Authenticator.

It is an option for the 2fA provider that my workplace uses. They do also tell us to use Microsoft Authenticator, but as far as I can tell, just because it was easier to describe than "any app that implements TOTP".

I just tried installing the Microsoft Authenticator on my FP5 which came preinstalled with /e/OS and the installation was no problem at all over the AppLounge. I did not try out the functionality though, as I do not have an example use case, so I stopped before accepting the privacy agreement.

I use it and it works just fine. I'm not sandboxing it and the phone's not rooted.

Can't you use another MFA option ? I also need to use MFA to connect for my job but I use the text option to avoid to install Microsoft authentificator.

Likely not. I was required by my university to install it as the only possible MFA method. Text, totp, passkey, and security key all disabled
