#PhotoOfTheDay is really just a photo of a painting, to change things up some... This is an interpretation of Eowyn from Lord of the Rings that my son painted for me several years ago, as he knew that Eowyn was always one of my favorite characters from the books.

@croyle@wandering.shop <clears throat> Suitable for framing no less.

@Nead@vivaldi.net Yes, I have a frame picked out but I never ordered, so I'll have to do that... I do have other pieces of his artwork framed and unframed around the house.

@croyle@wandering.shop That's great as they are worth surrounding yourselves with!

@Nead@vivaldi.net I'm running out of wall space in my home office lol! But I have other places in the house where it can go, if needed. :)

@croyle@wandering.shop I love this painting. She's my favorite character, too.

@Pearl22@troet.cafe Thanks! I was very happy to get it as a Christmas gift... Eowyn's been a favorite of mine since I read the books a gazillion years ago, long before the movies. :)

@croyle@wandering.shop She was one of the female role models in fiction for me as a young adult. A warrior, but not for the sake of fighting but partly out of a certain longing for death as a result of unrequited love and partly out of the urge to not just stand around and do nothing when the world around you gets occupied by evil forces - sadly more up to date than ever today.

@Pearl22@troet.cafe She was a great character that way. As a guy, I admired her so much for standing up for herself and what she felt was right, and the fact that she wasn't going to let the men dismiss her and tell her what to do... I have always appreciated womens' strength, however it manifests itself.

There's a lot in that book (and other fiction) that serves to inspire in dark times, as we are facing now. "“... and so do all who live to see such times."
