Now running Proxmox with some Minecraft servers, several programming projects, telegram bots, VMs for friends, android building, storage and similiar.

Consuming around 300W in average load (this is Italy, and I pay around 0.29€/kwh), most of the hardware comes for free decommissioned from businessess, or for cheap from charity shops. I exchanged my old Intel Core 3rd gen machines because they only had 2 slots of DDR3 non-ECC RAM and I needed at least 32GB per machine.

This is a small closet room inside my bedroom. You can't really hear the sound from outside, so I set the fans to max power. It's less than 1.5 meters tall, so it's really hard working inside. Everything that can be done remotely is done remotely.

I have a symmetrical 1G/1G fiber connection (29.99€/mo)

No worries, all of my setup is in the office closet at home and barely fits lol! Gotta start somewhere!

AWS, GCloud, Azure and Oracle are scared.

Stop doing this.

With all the green in the background, you could have made it look even cooler by replacing the green with something like the deck of a starship.

Sweet setup! Im new-ish at this so, sorry for any ignorant questions. But how are the VMs for friends? You mean you give other people in the building access to desktops that are running off that stack? As in they have a monitor, keyboard and mouse in their room or something?

Oh god in Germany 100Mbps/45Mbps costs 40€/month! Electricity is like 0.5€/kWh! There isn't any charity shop! I envy you!

I discovered them recently. In the one where I go most of the time all the people there are volunteers, they have agreements with local landfills to take good things and resell them where the profits go to a charity that helps poor people in Latin America.

I'm sorry for the connection price lmao, here you pay always around 20-30 euro a month and you get the best connection that you're covered with, so 1G fiber, 100/200M FTTC or ADSL. You can also get 2.5/1G and 5G/700M fiber in some cases for around the same. Only a few ISPs offer 10G/2.5G fiber in limited areas and for a higher price.

Props for the room that looks like a cartel torture chamber. The unplugged monitor makes it look like those cables are used for something nefarious. I like it!

Now I'm interested haha what case and PSU do you have for that top rackmount case? It looks like a case that can hold one of those supermicro motherboard giants haha
