With the host instance, lemm.ee shutting down, and a relative lack of interest from other users outside myself, I've decided to shutter this community rather than attempt to migrate it to another instance.

I'm still debating where to share Age of Mythology–related news and discussion in the future. As of now I lean towards !rts@reddthat.com, but I'm also considering creating (the as-of-now non-existent) !ageofempires@lemmy.zip, a place that could be more specific than RTS as a whole genre, but broader in appeal than Age of Mythology alone.

Feedback encouraged.

lemmy.zip, unfortunately, blocks traffic from UK, which my instance is located in. I'd be happy to welcome you to lemmy.cafe, though!

Wait, lemmy.zip can't even federate with UK instances? I knew UK users couldn't use it but I assumed that wouldn't be a problem with federation.

My bad. I thought it was only outbound federation that worked, but have now just created a comment and it has been accepted. Carry on!

Hey yeah just for clarity the only thing we block is UK users from accessing the UIs.

Federation, apis etc still function as normal and instances in the UK and users in the UK using other instances can interact with lemmy.zip with no issues 😊

Edit: we of course would love any gaming communities on Lemmy.zip, but I'm also a big proponent of spreading the load. Hope you find a new home soon!

Retrolemmy.com is available, and might be the instance perfect for this.
