Hello,

I run an unraid server and have 2x samsung SSDs, pretty sure they were part of a "bad batch" I read about a while ago.

They are still alive. But don't know for how much longer.

Question is. What's a better drive (obviously enterprise) but I don't feel I use it that much to justify the cost. Jellyfin, 2 Vm's, handful of game servers in dockers.

That's just one of the drives..... they are both pretty similar, And yes, out of warranty. Also, yes.... should have returned them earlier....

Thanks.

If you can still find them, Intel Optane drives are great for caching.

For the price point, Kingston DC1500M U.2. Get a dual U.2 to PCI-E x8 adapter for your mirror.

A 3.84TB single disk model should be still just a tad higher than 200 euros.

So, I went with 2x corsair mp600 force drives.

I know not enterprise stuff. But I checked what I've written to the samsung drives and over the time frame and I don't tax them too hard.

The new drives have 1800tbw endurance. Hopefully won't die unexpectedly.

Couldn't justify the cost of even second hand enterprise drives in Australia. PC parts here are ridiculous.

Thanks for the comments.
