being a kid and discovering your friends parents grow closet...
one of my favorite "omg it just occurred to me" memories is being a young boy and my mom had friends that lived 20 minutes outside of town in a little hippy village. Their house was one of those super old houses that had a wash room but didnt actually have a toilet in the house, because it was so old and those hippies didn't want to update it (this is probably the late 1970s or maybe very early 1980s). So you had to go to the outhouse out back if you needed to do that type of business. So I remember one day before breakfast, going to the outhouse and coming back thinking that there was a skunk somewhere because oh boy did it smell!
so I come in and announce to everyone in the kitchen that I think there is a skunk out back. They all had a good laugh at me. Years later my sister was telling me that "oh yeah those friends of mom's, they smoked a lot of weed. They even had huge bushes growing out in their back yard near the outhouse"
I still remember the way they all laughed, and it took me some time but I had a good laugh about that too
