Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

And WTH is up with the Dem votes against? Are we THAT boned?

The dying flailings of neoliberalism, but also yes.

Like the left during the rise of the Nazis the movement is disorganized and divided, having counted on the support of the "moral" centrists who simply don't exist.

I think Taco should have his diaper changed more frequently. Diaper rash can make babies cranky.

UTIs (urinary tract infections) really fuck with people experiencing dementia. Sometimes the way a person acts under a UTI is the first sign of such cognitive decline. They’ll be fine one day, but when infection sets in it’s like they become another person.

However, that’s for people who ordinarily have self-control. For Trump, it’s anyone’s guess.

I'm not sure what is worse - when he goes ALL-CAPS/CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL, or when he has the Random Capitalization of words For no Apparent reason.

Trump sounds like a democrat.

[–] Ironfist79@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Trump needs to relax, all this stress can't be good for his heart.

I wanna see them file for actual impechment and not just call for it.

Like whats the point other than making the orange turd angry

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Then what? What is the point of impeachment? It already happened twice, and he's still here.

[–] morphballganon@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

... so better to give up? What's your solution

[–] floquant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Don't try to play within a system that's broken?

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

Great, what's your solution?

Why does the president keep bragging about his passing of dementia tests‽ How can he not understand that that is admitting to needing them?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

"I passed that STD screening with flying colors!"

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

"My physical therapist had me walk across the room. He told me I did amazing. Perfect genes, I should be in the Olympics. I challenge Obama to try to walk across the room without even stopping a fourth time. He can't. SAD"

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 5 minutes ago

This is the guy that probably actually believes the BS height/weight that he got some doctor to issue, LOL. Surprised he has not had a doctor tell everyone that he has a 14 inch dong, too. In any case, he'd probably believe that, too. :)

[–] J92@lemmy.world 29 points 17 hours ago

I just want to hear someone from the press pool shout, "you've already said this, Donald."

[–] pedz@lemmy.ca 28 points 18 hours ago (4 children)

How many times has he "completely lost it" recently? He's always been insane. Insanely stupid in fact. Nothing new here.

Yet, when we read the headlines, every few days or weeks, he "completely loses it".

If he were throwing grass in the air, eat dirt, or speak in tongues, maybe it would be worth the completely lost it title. Otherwise, it gets old after a few times.

[–] Absaroka@lemmy.world 5 points 5 hours ago

That really irks me is we basically have two styles of headlines right now.

The newer sites like Rawstory, Mediaite, New Republic, Daily Beast, and Meidas Touch all use this bullshit style of headline writing.

Meanwhile the traditional media sane washes the man and is equally disconnected from reality, but in the other direction.
