I watch and read a lot of essays and pods and stuff about movie and tv and one thing I notice is that writers like to effusively write about all the influences and all the references to other works, books and movies and art, in a movie or show.

I would love to sit and discuss with an average real person who doesn't make tv or movies and we can find all the artistic and literary references they have spoken or written that day in the course of their everyday life.

because art is every where and in everyone's everyday lives, they just forgot

The tissue box next to me has a printed marble pattern on it. Marble has been used to beautify objects and spaces for thousands of years. It’s expensive so it’s used by the wealthy and thus associated with luxury. The echos of that art have traversed thousands of years to be printed on a tissue box.
