How long until we see knock off versions by Huyndai, Hyandui and of course...Amazon Basics?

[–] Buffaloaf@lemmy.world 71 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Brands like HYUNBEST and CARSUN

Why do the Chinese sellers love the word Sun so much?

[–] CheeseChief@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Paradoxically somehow all with better quality control than actual Hyundai

It's crazy they felt this was a necessary step vs creating their own online storefront. I understand the convenience and appeal of Amazon when it comes to daily basics and essentials. But a car? How often does one buy a car?

[–] EvokerKing@lemmy.world 25 points 2 years ago

I have a feeling Amazon offered it to them, not the other way around.

[–] Cannacheques@slrpnk.net 6 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Well look man Amazon has the infrastructure and means so I don't see why not

[–] PersnickityPenguin@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Maybe Amazon can drone deliver a car to your house.

They could even drop it via a parachute.

[–] Cannacheques@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 years ago

Haha, would only work in NZ or somewhere small like Switzerland

I was going to say this is hardly another package, but they are probably already experienced dealing with containers at some point of the chain?
How do cars even get transported in bulk.

[–] elbarto777@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

You've seen those semis carrying cars.

So we will get the volatile amazon markup pricing vs random dealer markups?

[–] Assman@sh.itjust.works 29 points 2 years ago (2 children)

November 1st: $25,000

Black Friday: ~~$50,000~~ $25,000 50% off!

[–] AlternateRoute@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

It's Amazon.. You forgot about Cyber Monday but are spot on about the pricing.

[–] criticon@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not even. I've seen items that show a discount but keepa shows that the price history is a flat line

[–] dlok@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

That's when it's marked off the "RRP" bit shady

[–] happyhippo@feddit.it 16 points 2 years ago

Free returns with Prime? I hope so

[–] badbytes@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Prime 2 day shipping for the win

[–] NeoNachtwaechter@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Why do they want to make Bezos even richer?

[–] Magiccupcake@startrek.website 4 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Anybody got a non paywalled version?

[–] isles@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] Ashen@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 years ago

Thanks for this! Just added it to Firefox, but I can't seem to get past the paywall. Do you have any suggestions?
