they sure love a guy with literal brain damage.

You ever wonder whether what you’re about to say violates some fundamental tenet you set for yourself? Anyway, he didn’t deserve to survive that stroke.

[–] cole@lemdro.id 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I feel like it's a little extreme to wish death upon him though

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

What they're trying to say is that an alternative outcome for this unforeseen event would've been more opportune. 😀

[–] thebeardedpotato@lemmy.world 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not saying the stroke turned him into a piece of shit, but if a stroke would turn me into a piece of shit, then I honestly would rather not survive it

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

A stroke causes anoxia and necrosis, and conservatism is linked to an altered executive function following injury.

Make with that what you will.

(joking, ofc, unless...?)

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 31 points 1 week ago

Honestly, it's such a boon to the right that the stroke gun happens to turn it's victims into chuds.

-The DNC after Cuomo LOST the Primary!

[–] pressedhams@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 week ago

I can say, as a New Yorker, fuck Cuomo.

He's the next Joe Manchin. Mainchin wielded outsized influence being at the extreme edge of the party with an electorate willing to keep him there. Wouldn't be surprised if Fetterman finds that appealing.

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's worse than that. Fetterman's stroke has caused him to be fully unhinged and irrational. Manchin had motive and purpose: money and power. Fetterman is quite literally delusional from his brain injury.

Fetterman stroke didn't do shit. Stop spreading that. He was alsways an asshole, he was never progressive, and he was always a politician first and formost.

[–] moody 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

He used to speak like he was progressive

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Except for the multiple times he specifically stated he is not progressive.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 1 points 6 days ago

Right. Just more proof he's always been a shit head.

the obama strat

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Connor Lamb, whose base was conservative Democrats, is expected to challenge Fetterman for drifting to the right? The same representative who's also often on lists of Democratic defections? Yeah, that's gonna work.

[–] FamousBlue@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 week ago

I had exactly the same thought, please for the love of God do not recruit Lamb to run against Fetterman. I never really trusted Fetterman or any "cult of personality" type politician, but the only reason I wanted him to become a Senator was to keep Lamb from reviving the Blue Dog wing of the Senate.

Yes, that's because he's literally a republican.

Oh, never mind, the author of the article seems to have been working there for about a month. I'm guessing they just graduated and started reading political news for the first time last month. That's the only explanation for this article, other than the author being a massive liar or reeeeaaally dumb.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 9 points 6 days ago

He's a republican for all intents and purposes. But not literally.

he is literally not literally a republican

[–] toast@retrolemmy.com 15 points 1 week ago

No, he isn't literally a Republican

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 week ago

[–] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 week ago

Because he's a fucking traitor.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 17 points 1 week ago

When he switches sides they'll start gushing about how cool he is in the hoodie.

[–] SuperIce@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Direct evidence that conservatism is a result of brain damage.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 6 days ago
