Did he reuse his previous Windows install? Did he install the motherboard drivers?
Fresh windows install, mobo drivers and chipset drivers installed. I'll double check with him on the versioning and if he just did it via windows update or directly through the manus support page.

Is it not detecting it, or is it not working at all as a display output? Sounds like you have display capabilities (sorry, I forget if the K series has a built in GPU), so is it just the detection that's the problem?
Yep k series has igpu, igpu works fine.
Output works fine from the 2080 if in the 4x slot, detects in windows and all is good with the driver installation.
It just straight up doesn't detect the GPU in device manager at all, and the driver installer didnt detect it only while in the top pcei 5x slot.

It's a new board, so I wonder if the slot is faulty. Manufacturing faults do happen sometimes. Do you have a newer card you can slot in and test?
Yeah im thinking a similar thought. Ill see if he can locate one to test with. If not I'll send him to a local shop so they can test it. Unfortunately lives 1000km, otherwise id beable to do some better testing for him haha!

Haha found th issue, buddy wasn't saving and confirming the bios setting changes. Made sure he did this time and it's running as expected with the gen 4 option.
Better to have an easy fix!
