I've been exclusively on Garmin watches since my interest in fitness started, my current Watch is a Forerunner 255s that I bought around 3 years ago. Thing is, it's been slowly starting to decline in battery life (one charge maybe lasts 5-7 days) and my height sensor started to really drift around, giving me that "You climbed 10 stories!" achievement like 7 times every day.

I was going to get a new Garmin when this one completely bit the dust, but due to a weird bundle deal at the Google Store, it was 300€ cheaper to buy a Pixel 9 and a Fitbit Charge 6 than it was to just buy the phone.

I can't sell the Fitbit for at least two years, since I bought the bundle as a "work expense" without paying taxes. So my options are to either use it myself or to give it to someone who I could quickly get it back from if the Tax Agency comes to check on whether I'm not reselling.

Sooo... does anyone here use Fitbit and could share their opinion on how it holds up? I'm especially interested in hearing how long the battery lasts and whether it works well with ANT+ devices (I use a Polar HR Strap and occasionally a bike cadence sensor)

Also, how annoying is it to listen to music on it? I bought the Music variant of the Garmin just to find out that it only really works with Spotify Premium... which I'm way too cheap to get. And manually transferring MP3s to it is really annoying haha

Had a 2 year old charge 5 and battery issues started about 1 year in. My partner had a charge 4 which did not hold charge overnight after 1 year.

Also the front panel kind of popped out for some reason, which made me get a cheap Garmin.

Also, google account requirement is coming, which sounds like a bad idea.

Other than these issues I liked it, screen was great, app used to be better.

Um, you might want to check the capabilities of the fitbit. Mine did not do music. Its a bio tracker, not really a smartwatch.
It seemed to work ok. I'd get about 3 days of life between charges. Charging was quick.
I mostly used the phone app to track diet, which was an enormous help. After about 3 months, it had told me everything I needed to know about myself, and I gave my fitbit to a friend who still wears it daily.

oh dang, only 3 days? I kinda just skimmed the store page and it said around 7, which would be on the lower end of acceptable for me. So that alone is a deal breaker, thanks for the input!

Well, that was my experience with the budget fitbit. They hace fancier ones ...

Fitbit was just not for me. Had two which broke down inbetween 1 and 2 years, a lot of stats are hidden behind a paywall and the touchscreens were unusable in water, although it had an Option to track swimming.

I was a consistent Fitbit user but changed to Garmin after Google started messing with things.

I had one of them almost a decade ago, before Google bought them. The one that I had really just counted steps and tracked heart rates and that was about it. It could also tell time. It was one of the fancy ones at the time.

Assuming you're not allergic to the watch band like I was, it did fine. Battery lasted about a week. Accuracy was close enough that I didn't notice a major issue.

I remember that the Fitbit app was annoying as all get out, though that has almost certainly changed.

Overall I remember liking it, I think I wore it for about 3 months before my wrist started to get torn up by it.

As to what they are like currently, post Google buyout, no clue.
