That tabby likes you! They're marking you!

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

yup, that's a cat tail cuddle

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Melbcat ‘monkey tails’ me and people she likes by wrapping it around us, it’s her version of a hug.

I know when she’s sick because along with the other body language she sometimes ‘hugs’ herself with her tail to self soothe.

Ooohh progress!

Omg. It looks like you’re getting a tail hug. (Cats wrapping their tail around someone is a sign of affection)

Night night!

The bedside tables are assembled!

They may win the award for worst designed flat pack I've ever experienced. Multiple screws with a hex fitting recessed into the wood so you can't get tools into them and can only turn a hex key less than a quarter turn before having to reposition. Plus a couple of instructions that were physically impossible. I had to make a few alterations to make it possible to get them together, but I think they are done solidly enough. The quality of the actual components is good and I like the overall design, but actually putting them together was definitely not something I'd want to repeat.

I don’t mind those. Do they come in black? where might I find them?

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It's the Rome bedside table from B2C Furniture. It does not come in black, but the Paris bedside table does.

That was actually a really uplifting and lovely psych session?! Yay! ☺️ I might not even need to see her for a while even though I'm still undecided as to whether I should terminate my lease and dump all my stuff in storage, or just pay rent until I get back. Leaving my stuff here is much, much easier, but I don't want to be in the same rut. A lot hinges on whether I can trust myself to courageously move towards change if I come back to the same place.

I can feel a decision bubbling up though. And other ways in which to address that yearning for a powerful driver of change

That's a good thing. 😊

Slices of pork belly in the air fryer - suitably marinated. Have worked out how to cook them and get the skin crispy. Tinfoil you are my friend in this endeavour.

Cheesy garlic bread. You will be mine.

I was tempted at the shops just now but I already had an early dinner of stodgy soup. Instead I will finish up this jar of salsa with a new bag of corn chips yeehaw

I read that in Wayne Campbell's voice.

Income statement says tax ready but when I got and try to do my tax return it says the pre-filled information from my income statement is not tax ready.

I guess I have to wait another day and hope it updates tomorrow. :(

Damn, was going to unwind with an episode of Murderbot but it is released Fridays, not Thursdays. But then I remembered all of The Bear s4 is available! I did need to read a recap of S3 because some of it was so slow but I also somehow forgot the amazing Napkins was in it too. I'm actually kind of happy that s4 is not returning to the insane intensity of S1 and S2 but let's see where these characters go. The development of folks like Ritchie and Tina is what really makes the show.

Top 10 Anime Betrayals: There are no biscuits I can eat at Aldi and the Woolies brand gingersnaps are actually good.

It just hit me. Melbcat has IBD. So maybe she’s having a flare.

This could explain the increased appetite, being sick, the accidents, the crying… She seems a lot better now but I’m going to get right back on the vets in the morning and ask. There is something that can be done about that.
