You replace the blades as required, but still a 'straight edge' to an extent.

I used to!!!!

Was using disposable blades though, not a proper old school single piece one.

Great shave. Takes a bit of practice, but a good skill to have. A nice shaving kit, with a proper razor, brush and stand makes an awesome gift.
