It’s actually like the title asks; What does everyone here do when you can’t sleep and are wide awake besides being on phone?

So let’s say it’s in the middle of the night and you are unable to sleep. You have to keep things soundless due to family or partner.

Trying to get the phone usage significantly lower when being in bed but it feels like nothing can replace the ‘easiness of mindlessly scrolling’.

Read until I fall asleep again

I meditate. Very occasionally, I still am not ready to sleep, but it still helps me to do that.

I listen to a podcast, if nothing else works.

Mostly, I don't worry about not sleeping. It took me years to feel OK with not sleeping, but here I am.

Peace.

I put the phone down as the light coming from it is part of the reason your brain is staying awake.

Lately I've been watching videos from twoodfrd on youtube. Guitar luthiery. Gets me napping like no other. Found another that seems promising "Machinery Restorer". Turn on subtitles if you need to be quiet.

If I can't sleep I get out of bed and play video games until I fall asleep. Sometimes that means a full night of gaming but most of the time I get tired after an hour or so.

Listen to music, or watch stream vods, specifically Moist Critical's. I do remember when I was really depressed I would put on Mitch Hedberg, it would laugh me to sleep.

I put on a Playlist of DCAU animated series. Batman: The Animated Series through Justice League Unlimited. I've seen them all a million times and it's something that lets my ADHD brain rest. You'd be surprised st how much of those shows are orchestral soundtrack withiut dialog.
