If I'm not driving, sleep.

If I am driving, and have someone with me, conversation.

If I'm alone, blasting music and singing along at the top of my lungs.

I mean I wouldn’t mind sleeping, but I think my passengers may have a problem with that.

In the same vein, podcasts. With books if I'm not paying close attention I can miss important things, but with podcasts they're generally on the same topic for an hour.

I'd recommend picking something light. A thriller, light fantasy or whatever you prefer that doesn't require too much attention. Michael Crichton is one author I often picked on road trips.

Thinking. Possibly singing.

I basically just stare at what's in front of me. I don't drive and I can't really do anything else because I'm highly prone to motion sickness.

If I'm not driving, it's my responsibility to keep the driver entertained with conversation. A long car ride in silence sounds miserable.
