Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Oh so they all admit it IS A FUCKING BRIBE THEN? GODDAMNIT FUCK EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE SLIMY FUCKS

[–] Octavio@lemmy.world 66 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Plot twist: he’s not leaving office. Don’t tell me about the 22nd amendment. He’s already in office in violation of the 14th. He’s not dying anytime soon either. Rotten fucks like him always live well into their 90s, fueled by hate. Just look at Rupert Murdoch.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 34 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Murdoch's age is just insane. His fucking father was a stain on humanity during fucking WWI, and that dude was already in his 30s at the time.

[–] Illecors@lemmy.cafe 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Your maths does not check out.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Oh but they does. Keith Murdoch (Rupert's father) was born in 1885 so was 29 at the outbreak of WWI. Rupert (literally Keith Rupert Murdoch) was born in 1931 when his father was 46.

[–] Illecors@lemmy.cafe 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

My bad. You said it was Rupert who was in his 30s during WW I and I thought that's what you meant.

I said "that dude was already in his 30s" and I meant daddy Keith. Never mind, they're both pieces of shit. The only reason Keith is less of a piece of shit is that he's long dead.

He'll leave office in a few years (let it be very few), whether walking, dragged, or feet-first.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Rupert Murdock isn't also fueled by McDonald's.

[–] ArsonButCute@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That's a white elephant gift.

If he's still around, maintenance on that thing isn't gonna be affordable

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago

The Republicn Congress will probably saddle the US taxpayer with the upgrade and maintenance bill too.

I'm curious to know who is going to pay to keep it airworthy, if DT does leave office? Those things aren't cheap to maintain.

If he leaves office he won't be in a position to grant political favours to friends.

His Trumpcoin scam is one rugpull away from being converted to actual useful money.

[–] Tigeroovy@lemmy.ca 8 points 6 days ago

I'll go one further, how about he get buried in it?

[–] MangioneDontMiss@lemmy.ca 6 points 6 days ago

Corruption yeah!

[–] bitwolf@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 days ago

So this will be taxed as a gift right?... Right?

[–] Kurious84 5 points 6 days ago

He's not planning to leave numbskulls.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago

Yeah, fuck the Emoluments Clause.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

They show their priorities again and again.

Epstein list?

Trump sending thousands of payments to epstein?

Nope, gotta shut down government to avoid it.

Letting trump keep a plane that Saudi's tricked us into taking cause its more expensive to renovate it than to buy a replacement, but its no big deal cause we're taking away peoples healthcare to pay for it? Urgent issue. MUST VOTE.

Watching America move from being a de facto criminal enterprise into a de jure criminal empire is numbing.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Naturally. Sycophantic freaks would bend over backwards to make that orange fuck happy
