Susie Willies is the Chief of Staff of the President.

She controls his agenda. She sometimes takes decisions on his behalf.

She is one of the very few people that Donald Trump actually trusts.

In 2010, she helped healthcare businessman Rick Scott become Governor of Florida.

She went to create a corporate lobbying firm named Ballard Partners. She recruited Pam Bondi as a lobbyist for Ballard Partners.

In 2018, she helped Ron De Santis become Governor Governor of Florida.

In 2024, Susie Willies was the top campaign manager of Donald Trump.

She doesn't look very strong

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wiki says her last name is Wiles (née Summerall), btw.

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 6 points 2 days ago

Nah she'll always be willies to me because that's what she gives me.

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago (10 children)

Are her pupils oddly dilated?

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

She seen some shit bro. Once, she walked in on Trump, doing... you know what.

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Fucking a child, I assume

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No. She looks like a regular elder Karen suburbanite. I'd wager if you take a regular and give it the same power as her, it would turn out just like her. Hopefully less successful.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 days ago

shes basically the karen version of government minder for trump/republicans.

she would be the female counterpart of thiel, thiel was pretty "close" vicinity to trump in his first term, and prior to jd vance spotlight. he has taken more of backdoor approach the 2nd time.

Fucking hell, you'd think being the most powerful woman in the US would afford you the ability to change your name from Willies

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

It gives me the Trumpies.

She controls his agenda. She sometimes takes decisions on his behalf.

... what exactly does "takes decisions on his behalf" mean? I've never "taken" someone else's decision, afaik... but I don't really know what that's supposed to mean, so whatever

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Some people say “make a decision” and some people say “take a decision.” In my experience most Americans say “make a decision,” but both are valid and mean the same thing.

[–] AndrewZabar@lemmy.world -1 points 2 days ago (2 children)

No, some people say make decision, and some people make a typo, or just plain don’t have a decent rudimentary vocabulary.

“She controls his agenda.”

Define agenda. Are we talking meetings calendar? Because people like Putin and Peter Thiel influence what Trump actually says and does.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Controlling the meeting calendar for the president is more than just the clerical work of a personal assistant. The president works and makes decisions by meeting with people. She decides who gets access to him today. She deflects people she doesn’t think are worth his time. Over the long run she can have extraordinary influence over him and what choices he has in front of him to make. She can effectively block people she doesn’t want to have any access. Thats a lot of power for someone most people don’t know by name.

[–] Hawke@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Especially since he listens to whatever someone said to him most recently.

[–] LesserAbe@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Besides what the other commenter replied, with Trump there's a special value in controlling his agenda because often the last person he talks to will have the most sway. There have been stories about his appointees taking advantage of a rival appointee being away or in a meeting, and getting Trump to issue an order or even just tweet a position on something so it's harder to walk back when someone else gets his ear.

White house chief of staff have incredible power. Sometimes they are referred to as the co-president even.
