The Day after the Nones of August

  • Brush: Yaqi Rock
  • Lather: TGS Ambre Fougère
  • Razor: E. Jagger 89
  • Blade: Astra Green (old+3)

Still no clear sign of frag burn - has my skin become too old for it? Has the soap spent enough time open and lost enough scent? Who knows!

Have a good night!

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

Another great shave. The unstropped edge from day 1 feels the same, but mostly, lots of gratitude to u/J33pGuy13 and u/stirlingsoap for making this scent in this base happen. Wonderful stuff!

August 6th, 2025

  • Brush: Zenith - 508A XL/Bristle (B35) (MOAR BOAR) 31mm Boar
  • Razor: Koraat 15/16 Full Hollow - Sub Exclusive 'Moarteen' (2)
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - Oro Valley - Soap
  • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - I, Rich Moose - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: Declaration Grooming, House of Mammoth - Cerberus - Liniment

Razor felt good today. Some spots aren't as close as I'm used to with DE/SE, but that's fine. This is my 49th straight razor shave, so I'm almost half way to 100 at which point I've been told the training wheels can come off! Just kidding.

I did catch myself getting a little too confident towards the end, but adjusted my mentality before any mistakes were made.

August 6th, 2025: AA Day 6

  • Brush: Proraso - Professional Boar
  • Razor: Weck - Sextoblade Med Prep
  • Blade: Fromm Hair Shaper
  • Lather: Mike's Natural Soaps - Vetiver - Soap
  • Post Shave: Catie's Bubbles - 322 - Aftershave

I hope today signifies a turning point for me. I am not sure what changed, but the Weck and Fromm blade felt so good. I had hardly any feedback from the splash and the brush is feeling absolutely fantastic now. All I can say for today is hell yeah.

The stars finally aligned!

Wow, quite the turn around.

I won’t question it. Hopefully shaves stay steady for awhile.
