Instead of giving a regular feeding I kept a bit of prepared repashy in Dora and had my Barlus underwater camera trained on it. Every kind of fish and even the shrimp came over to enjoy it! Peacock gudgeon, gold laser corys, platinum medaka ricefish, and white cloud mountain minnows all came by for a nibble.

Clip I captured from my 24/7 indoor pond underwater livestream.

What is prepared repashy? I found their website but the bit you have in the video looks much larger than I would expect from those jars and from my own experience with gecko food. Maybe I'm misjudging the scale here, as well. Is that anubias in the background? If so that makes the repashy look like it's maybe 0.25 inch/ 0.63 cm? I have some corys, platys, and a couple dojo loaches that like a little variety in their diets and this might be their next treat.

I have a pretty big anubias barteri in the background. I would say it's 3-4 inches across. Repashy is a gelatin-type food -- you prepare the dry mix with hot water and then it will set into whatever mold you place it in. It's soft and slightly jiggly. I think you can make it more of a gel if you use a higher proportion of water.

I used a bowl and then cut a piece of it and place it into my pond. This piece was about 1/4 inch thick, and maybe 1"x2" across. The corys looooove it since it sinks and they can graze on it over a long time without it ruining the water (maybe 24h). Since this was at the middle depth of my pond, resting on a rock, the surface and mid-column fish also seemed to come and have some nibbles, too. Especially since near the torn edges it is thinner and I think easier for them to get a bite.

Thank you for the reply! I was at the LFS last night and they had similar advice and as much praise. I will begetting some today for the loaches and corys.

Thank you again for helping to improve the quality of life in Fishadelphia.

It’s my pleasure. If you do it get a video or picture of them enjoying it 🙂
