August 8th, 2025: AA Day 8

  • Brush: Proraso - Professional Boar
  • Razor: Weck - Sextoblade Med Prep
  • Blade: Fromm Hair Shaper
  • Lather: Mike's Natural Soaps - Vetiver - Soap
  • Post Shave: Catie's Bubbles - 322 - Aftershave

Another dAAy, another decent shave. No blood loss, no complaints about the Weck as of right now. u/EldrormR said that after a few shaves the Fromm blades get buttery smooth and I think I finally hitting that sweet. My growth is sparse so it makes sense that it would take a few more days. The brush is eating lather like the hungry hog it is. Happy Friday.

August 8, 2025

  • Brush: Zenith B44 28mm Boar
  • Razor: Koraat 14 "Moarteen" 15/16" Full Hollow
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. - I, Rich Moose (Mutton -r/Wetshaving) - Soap
  • Toner: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
  • Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. - I, Rich Moose - Aftershave
  • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz - Sir Irisch Moos - Eau de Cologne

3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

My eighth shave with this setup this month was as close and comfortable as my first. Without stropping, the edge has held up very well. It feels as keen today as it did on day one. I am wondering how much the Mutton base is contributing to all this. My skin feels terrific after every shave.

In the video I talk a little bit about my lathering method and how it is derived from @sgrdddy's Slurry Lather method.

August 8th, 2025

  • Brush: Kent - INF1 Infinity Synthetic
  • Razor: Koraat 15/16 Full Hollow - Sub Exclusive 'Moarteen' (3)
  • Lather: Meißner Tremonia - Woody Almond - Soap
  • Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Gratiot League Square - Aftershave

This brush is small, but it works.

Exotic setup you've got there! Meißner Tremonia is a new name to me.

[–] walden@sub.wetshaving.social 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I got it a few years ago from sgrdddy. Looking around, I don't know if anyone distributes it in the US anymore. As far as soap bases go it's not very artisinal but I like the lather I get from it.

I found the soap finicky to lather, but I still very much like their Indian Flavour scent. I don't know whether I would buy it again, though.

Edit: They seem to have stopped making shaving soap.

They indeed did stop producing shaving soap and also their shaving paste (harder creams) are on clearance sale now. Unfortunate...

Meißner Tremonia is a german artisan. While their "Strong 'n' Scottish" soap smells awful to me, they also licensed their "Triple Menthol" for a harder croap/shaving paste to another german cosmetics brand, Jean & Len. It's really good but the cooling effect is strong with this one. I also had a sample of "Wild Oranges" which I also own in hand & body soap format. That's definitely one of their best scents, a dark citrus blend of bitter, blood and sweet oranges. Unfortunately they don't make shaving products anymore except aftershaves, nowadays they focus on beard care products and hand/body soap only...

Thanks! Really appreciate the info!
