I'm curious if this insanity ... sorry, this lack of sensible thinking is spreading beyond tech. Do non-tech people really say "allowlist" ๐Ÿคข? I haven't heard anyone in the UK say that.

As long as the usage of the banned terms isn't banned I see no problem.

If I try talking about SCSI controllers and responders no one will understand what I'm talking about, but it hurts nothing to avoid these terms on me tech, we've already got fractured terminology, so who cares? And some, like blocklist/allowlist, could probably be swapped in even in legacy places.
