Eric just released a new video and blog post reveling the updated design and its more like the old Pebble Time Steel, and less like the Kickstarter Pebble design.

I for one LOVE it, and put down my $$$ for a pre-order.

I regret having an iPhone. Would have gotten one

They work with iPhones but not as well as they do on Android, something something walled garden "it just works"...

Looks great, this is what I wanted years ago - a more modern Pebble Time Steel with a less ridiculous bezel!

It's the time steel 2 we never got!

If they pull it off it will be quite an impressive comeback story. I'm glad I kept all my old pebble chargers!

I still have my time steel somewhere, no other watch has come close to matching it for me. Time to dig it up and see about getting it working again.

Mine still works although the battery has degraded over time, which is one of the reasons I stopped using it. It looks like the battery will be replaceable on the Pebble Time 2, which is great as the build quality of the steel was excellent and the rest of the watch was holding up great after years of use.

I know it's possible to replace the battery, mine is in need of some minor repairs to the charging contacts. Iirc precise application of conductive glue was the community fix

pre-ordering anything is the dumbest thing you can do.

Normally I agree. I generally won't buy things based on future promises. I'm this case I have been dying for a new pebble for years and I can cancel at any time.

I don't know that they will do broad distribution like they did with the og and time.

I doubt we will see them on Amazon or at Best buy.

Yeah and also, this guy has a lot of experience making very similar products, and you can see the product is almost there physically and the software already works quite well... I'd say that makes it much lower risk than your average kickstarter type crowdfunder/preorder.

I'd love to order one, but who knows what'll happen with tariffs until EoY?

I'll likely buy one once the first batch and reviews come out.

I'm excited.

No other smartwatch in existence since the Pebble has met my needs the same nor had any of the same features executed how I liked.

Fingers crossed.
