Links or discussions about cracked versions of games, unauthorized copies of copyrighted material and other similar piracy-related content are not allowed.

5: No NSFW or adult content.

This community is inclusive to users of all ages. Keep in mind Minecraft attracts children and adults alike. Therefore, no NSFW content is allowed.

6: No low-effort meme content.

Memes are allowed, and so are comics or other fan creations. However, low-effort reposts and otherwise overused memes will be removed.

Reddit reposts are allowed.

A recent fan-ranked snapshot on Rankiwiki shows Minecraft tied at #1 among best-selling video games, alongside GTA V, Red Dead Redemption II, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (each shown at 25% in that snapshot).

The two things (together) that keep me coming back to Minecraft are version control and mod support

That combo is probably why Minecraft keeps its staying power. Do you think any 2025 release comes close on modding and versioning, or is it still not even close?

I personally haven't kept up with the 1.21 release cycle. The only thing that I've paid any attention to is the creaking and it's new biome + wood type, and even that is kinda meh for me

Totally fair take. The new biome and wood set are vibe upgrades, not core loop changes, so "meh" makes sense.
