Im still kinda annoyed by the time I submitted a poster for an assignment and the teacher docked marks because the contrast was bad, but it looked totally fine on my monitor :/

If this was high school, I agree, but at a collegiate level, I could see it. An important element is making sure your work looks goods in a range of scenarios. A poster might not get great lighting in a lot of scenarios.

Similar to mixing your music for terrible speakers before paying attention to all the extra details.

There’s also the possibility you know all this and the teacher had a crappy monitor and was bad at their job. Just thought I’d add my two cents.

Yeah, it was high school. I was using my large monitor which is an LCD so it definitely didn't have the best color accuracy. It's a good thing for me to keep in mind but still a little annoying.

That's the benefit of modern phones moving to using OLED screens, yet also kinda an annoyance, especially when you open your phone first thing in the morning, lol
