This is such a common misconception. HR are not and have not ever been on the side of employees. They are an employer function.

No it's not, the meme is 100% right, and I'm not even going to read your attempt at defending them!
You’re violently agreeing again! The point “the common misconception” comment was making was this; it’s common mistake to think HR are there for the employee. HR is to protect the company from employees. They hire and fire as required. There’s only loyalty to the company.

Never go to hr. I did twice in my career decades apart. Laid off within six months, both times.

If people only listen to me for one reason, have that reason b that hr is evil and is only there to protect the company. They would murder a person and bury them if it would make thier company a red fucking cent.
You'd think with a name like Human Resources people wouldn't be that confused. They're literally there to keep the humans working, as they're seen as resources to be spent by the company.
